Book Design is nothing less than art itself.   At House of Penguin we take your book very seriously, and we keep you in the loop every step of the way.  From concept through design and publication, your book is handled with the love and respect it deserves.

WHAT WE DO . . .

First we ask you what you want. What is your vision?  How do you see your book in the marketplace, and more important, in the hands of your readers?  Who is your book intended for, and how best do you wish to reach them?  These are basic questions that begin to formulate the production process.

Next, we agree on a production schedule.  You will know at the outset how long your book is likely to take in the production process.  At this point we'll let you know exactly what we require from you in terms of manuscript readiness, cover design, any special artwork required for your book, and all of the specifications for these items.  Once they have been gathered, we'll get to work on your book.

When we've completed the cover, we'll e-mail you a color proof PDF for your approval.  And once you've approved the cover, we'll create a hard copy proof of the whole book and send it to you for final approval.  Once you've given us the final green light, your book is ready to produce and sell. 

NO MINIMUMS EVER . . .

With House of Penguin Book Design, there are never any minimum order requirements.  This really helps authors who wish to test the marketplace for reader interest before committing  to a large production run, or for small press publishers who would rather not concern themselves with book inventory storage.  We print state-of-the-art books to order, as many or as few as you like.   You remit a single production fee that covers the creation of your book, Library of Congress listings, EAN-13 and ISBN numbers, Universal Product Code (Bar Code), and immediate distribution on Amazon.com and major internet retail sites like Barnes & Noble.com, WHSmith.com and many more.

As for a physical stock of books, you order as many as you need as often as you like and we will print and ship them wherever you like.

As for royalties for online book sales, we forward those sales to you on a monthly basis through Paypal.  What could be simpler or better for you and your book?  That's what we do here at House of Penguin Book Design, and we're as proud of your work as you are.
