MANUSCRIPT:  Your original manuscript should be e-mailed to us as a Microsoft Word Document.  8.5 by 11 inches or thereabouts is fine.  Document must be in single pages.  Please do not attempt to anticipate our needs by sending a manuscript that is paginated two pages on a landscape document setup, or anything similar.  If you send it to us as you wrote it, it will be fine.  If we have any questions, we will contact you immediately.  You will be assigned a single contact person who will shepherd your book through the process, and he or she will handle your book from start to finish.

COVER:  Any special artwork that you have planned for your cover should first be scanned and e-mailed to us so we can get a feel for what you visualize your book's cover to be.  At some point in the process we will need the original artwork, and we will send you an address and control number for you to send the artwork to us.  When we send you the final proof copy of the completed book your original artwork will be returned to you at that time.

TRIM SIZES AND PAPER STOCK:  You can choose from a number of sizes and formats.  Know that book retailers prefer a number of standard sizes, and we will always encourage Clients to choose from these preferred retailer sizes listed below.

Paper stock is either bright white or ivory, 24 lb. book stock, 40% recycled, and acid free.

Cover stock is industry standard Trade Paperback thickness, glossy, with your choice of Black and White, Duo-Tone, or Full Color.  There is no price difference between color or B&W.

BOOK BINDING:  All House of Penguin printings are perfect bound Trade Paperbacks.  NOTE:  We are glad to quote Case Bound (Hard Cover) book projects on an individual basis.  Understand that the cost averages approximately three to four times the Trade Paperback costs, and that separate quotes for Dust Jacket are necessary.  There are also minimum order amounts required as well.
